Vanessa Márquez spent 29 years in rooms most business owners never see. She produced digital work inside global agencies including McCann Erickson, 360i and Dentsu, and on in-house marketing teams at Diageo and LG. She ran web builds from requirements through launch and everything after, and she has the stories to prove it.
In 2011 she helped launch Canon’s Cinema EOS brand with a three-day event at Paramount Studios, where Martin Scorsese shook her hand before taking the stage as keynote. What she rarely got to do was meet the customer. In agency life, she says, you never see the end user. You don’t go to the restaurant and sit down for dinner, and you don’t call them when your sink stops working. That changed when she came home.
Vanessa grew up in Englewood, couldn’t wait to leave after high school, and never expected to move back. In her 40s she treasures it: the house, the garden, the neighbors. Now she spends her days driving the county and sitting down with owners who started businesses to bake bread or pave driveways, not to become marketers. Her job is to clarify what they need, build the roadmap, and take the marketing off their plate.
Between her and Maceo there are more than 55 years of big-brand experience pointed at the same neighbors. Her community work runs just as deep. She’s vice president of the Junior League of Bergen County and its president-elect, stepping into a two-year term as president. Recent League projects include a STEM room and a music recording studio at the Boys & Girls Club of South Bergen, plus a family waiting room and an art therapy room at West Bergen Mental Healthcare, with a sensory wellness room now in progress. She holds a BA from NYU and finished her MBA at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business in 2025 with a 4.0.
Off the clock she’s a certified advanced open water scuba diver and will say yes to any horror movie.
